Two images of the Rossoneri’s triumph against Juventus stand out from the rest: Donnarumma’s incredible dive to save Dybala’s penalty, and Allegri’s solemn anger at the awards ceremony. In fact, the Bianconeri really wanted to win that trophy and arrived in Qatar one day before AC Milan. Juve also pushed hard, but AC Milan stood firm and it was the Rossoneri who were more precise with their penalties, just as they were thirteen years earlier in Manchester. Thus, the Italian Super Cup returned to Milan just as it had done seven times between 1989 and 2016.
