AMORIM: "A GAME WE HAVE TO WIN WITH THE RIGHT APPROACH"

After the Derby comes Ferencváros. Following the big Serie A clash, the Rossoneri face another important and challenging test in the Europa League. AC Milan will look to bounce back on League Phase Matchday 4, scheduled for Thursday, November 5th at 6:45 PM CET at San Siro. At Milanello, following the final training session, Head Coach Rúben Amorim and Koni De Winter held their pre-match press conference.

AMORIM

FROM THE DERBY TO THE EUROPA LEAGUE
"The Derby is in the past, now we have to focus on the Europa League. It was great to win, even though I'm still frustrated about the loss to Bologna. Tomorrow we need to be stronger to win. It doesn't matter who you are playing against, we want to get a result and go all the way in the competition."

POSSIBLE OPTIONS
"This is an important game, but we also need to be careful with certain players. We can't afford to lose any. Sometimes if you don't let players rest they can pick up injuries. So we need to rotate the squad, while recognizing that we need to win this game against a strong side who already have 9 points in this competition."

PERFORMANCE
"In the Europa League, for various reasons, we haven't been able to find consistency. Every game is different. We have three points in the competition and tomorrow we absolutely have to win. We've faced some difficulties, and I'm not entirely satisfied with our performances in the Europa League or in Serie A, where we should have more points."

THE OPPONENTS
"First of all, they are a team that is used to winning, regardless of the circumstances, and that gives them confidence. They are doing very well in the league. They play a 4-2-3-1 formation, have a strong identity, know how to play and are very comfortable in their style. They are coming to San Siro with nothing to lose, so the responsibility is on us. I've already told the players that we need to show the same approach that we had in the Derby. We are capable of winning or losing any game, it all depends on us."

DEFENSIVE APPROACH
"We defended well against Inter which allowed us to make better decisions. We need to do the same tomorrow. Diawara is working very well. He's had a long spell out of the team, but he's quick, strong and has great potential to improve."

"Becoming a father is an incredible feeling. I feel increasingly important on the pitch and I can sense that more trust is being placed in me. I think this is a great period in my career."

"I feel good both physically and mentally. When there are lots of games, it's great to work hard so that I'm always ready to play. I enjoy it and always try to be prepared for every match."

THE UNDERSTANDING WITH PAVLO
"I feel comfortable playing alongside any of my teammates in defense. We've trained a lot and now we all know each other very well. It's great to play with Pavlo. He's a very good player and we always understand each other."

THE OPPONENTS
"They're doing very well and are full of confidence. We'll give everything to keep a clean sheet and beat them. We know it won't be easy."

ROLE MODEL
"If I had to name one player, I'd say Thiago Silva. He played for AC Milan, I've followed him closely and he's a fantastic player."
